The short answer is there is no difference in the Roblox context. A Roblox avatar is a figure which should represent your personality in the virtual world. A Roblox character is the actual property and group of elements that make up the avatar. When Roblox first began, the term “Roblox Character” was used exclusively. Now the term “Roblox Avatar” is used, but in reality they are used interchangeably. We will use them interchangeably here.

Your Roblox character is who you are, so instead of aimless customizing your character like most players do, think about it for a few minutes since it’ll give you a better understanding of what he or she should look like.

- When you leave the house, what look do you want to achieve? Business, business casual, or casual? Or maybe you prefer sporty.
- Do you have long hair, short hair, or no hair?
- Are you a Roblox noob, i.e., a newbie to Roblox? Or maybe you simply like the noob look.
- Are you a Roblox VR person and require a more cyberspace look?
- Do you use Roblox Twitter a lot? Perhaps a little blue Twitter bird would be appropriate perched on your character’s arms.
Ask these questions for all your features. Make a mental note of your answers and take them into account when customizing your Roblox avatar.

One of my favorite Roblox games is Call of Roblox and before I play, I love dressing my avatar in a casual army uniform. Usually, it involves blue jeans, boots, and a khaki top. This doesn’t only look cool, but it complements the game.
And if you love playing Call of Roblox, I highly recommend geeking out and dressing your Roblox avatar in an army uniform.
Also, if you love playing the Roblox game Work At A Pizza Place, consider dressing up with your friends as real-life pizza workers and throw food at each other while customers are ordering.
Do You Want a R15 or R6 Roblox Avatar?
R6 avatars are constructed from only 6 parts and this gives them a limited amount of animated motion. An R6 avatar consists of;
- A head
- Torso
- Right arm
- Left arm
- Right leg
- And a left leg.
While it does offer a limited range of animated motion, R6 avatars are preferred by players who’ve been playing a while, and appreciate the original avatars. But if you started playing recently, R15 avatars will be better since they offer a larger range of animated motion. They also consist of;
- A head
- An upper torso
- Lower torso
- Left upper arm
- Left lower arm
- Left hand
- Right upper arm
- Right lower arm
- Right hand
- Left upper leg
- Left lower leg
- Left foot
- Right upper leg
- Right lower leg
- And a right foot.
What’s cool about R15 avatars is that they allow you to customize their height, width, body type, head size, and proportions.
When customizing your avatar’s body type, 0% will give you a blocky, toy-like character. And 100% gives you an avatar that looks just like a normal human. They’re sometimes called Rthro’s.
When adjusting your avatar’s height, your values will be constrained between 95% to 105% while the width is constrained between 70% and 100%.
Adjusting these values will allow you to shape your avatar’s body to your specifications.
How Do I Customize My Roblox Avatar?
Roblox allows you to customize anything you want. You can also buy accessories and customize your avatar using Robux and Tix, which are virtual, in-game currencies. Getting your hands on Robux or Tix requires you to either buy or earn them in the game. But there are tons of free stuff to enjoy.
Regardless of how much you’re willing to spend, customizing your avatar is easy.
- Firstly, go to Roblox.com and log into your Roblox account. If you don’t have an account, sign up, it’s free.
- Select the menu button on the top left and click on “character”.
- Next, click on your avatar’s t-shirt and customize it.
- You can customize the rest of your body by simply clicking on a specific body part. You can even choose from a list of awesome accessories. But remember, you can only wear a maximum of three hats, one shirt, and one pair of pants. Once you’re ready, click the “wear” button and you’re good to go!
But if you’re bored of the basic free options, you can buy some cool accessories for your Roblox avatar. But before you do that, you’ll need to earn some Robux. The easiest option is to simply buy them in bundles from Roblox, but this isn’t only boring, it’s expensive.
By far my favorite way is to create Roblox games and run ads.
Another way of earning Robux is by joining the Builder’s Club which gives you a certain amount of Robux every day. You can save up and after you have enough cash, buy your favorite accessory. They also allow you to sell old t-shirts, hats, and accessories and you get to keep most of the profits.
Once you’ve earned or bought some Robux, simply head on over to “catalog” and buy whatever tickles your fancy. My personal favorite is the Doge Hat that costs 250 Robux and it replaces your head with a 3D replica of the Doge meme.
Once you’ve bought a cool accessory, you’ll find it under “character customization”. Simply equip your avatar and you’re good to go.

1. The Selfie Gal
For all the ladies who’re big fans of Roblox, this is the perfect avatar for you. It’s like the average 21st-century girl with her selfie stick, hip t-shirt, denim shorts, and long boots.
She’s just a fun and cheerful avatar to be around.
2. Batman
For us batman fans, this is a perfect spice up compared to our usual Roblox avatars. Instead of going undercover in a plain white t-shirt and blue jeans, why not be proud that you’re Batman. I mean, being rich is the perfect superpower.
This avatar has a back torso with a Batman logo printed on it, black and yellow pants, and unique black and yellow hair. What more can you ask for?
3. The California Beach Boy
Just like selfie girl, California beach boy is a cool and fun avatar to be around. He has the best pants I’ve ever seen in the Roblox game with unique red, yellow, blue, green, and purple stripes. This is sure to stand out when you’re playing with online friends.
He also has a cool little cat picture printed on his white t-shirt, or it could be a Pokemon. Lastly, the trifecta going on with his glasses, blonde hair, and red cap tells everyone that he’s ready to have fun.
4. I’m A Spy
This awesome R15 avatar’s body looks like a real human if he’d hit the gym 7 days a week. His neon-blue shoes and torso stand out compared to the rest of his body and this gives him a futuristic, techy look which rocks.
He also has Adidas shoes and a cap that says, “I’m a spy”. Wow, what a way to keep things subtle.
Think of this little fella as the next James Bond, but without the suit or fighting skills.
Also, nobody wants their avatar to get sick and this design has a nice scarf that protects him against all airborne diseases.
5. The Office Guy
This is your typical hard-working office guy that stays up late to crunch numbers. He has a black bowtie that shows he clearly knows something about fashion, a red short-sleeved shirt, and brown and white pants. Personally, his pants are the only part of his costume I’d swap out.
6. Spiderman
This R6 Roblox avatar is one of the classics. Although it may look big and blocky, it was once a go-to for all Roblox players. I remember when I first started playing Roblox, this Spiderman avatar was everywhere. But as other avatars got released, Spiderman faded into the darkness.
But in recent times, original avatars are making a comeback, so why not give it a shot?
