What Are The Most Used Goal Setting Apps?

goal setting apps

For some people, setting a goal and keeping it isn’t an easy task. It’s just too easy to put off the goal for another day or you get distracted easily by something else much more fun to do. Sometimes you need a little push, reminder, or reward for working on your goal. There are many apps on the market that will provide those things so you can succeed in your goals no matter how large or small. Here are some of the top apps for goal setting:

Strides

Strides is a goal tracker that constantly reminds you about your goals and how well (or bad) you are doing at reaching them. Your goals can be anything from waking up early to graduating college. Strides uses three types of goal tracking that you can choose from. These include setting a date for your goal and seeing how close you are getting there, setting an average for your goal and you see your average number of how many times you’ve completed your goal (e.g. waking up early), or using milestones and breaking down a large goal into manageable pieces and tracking them individually.

Way of Life

Way of Life is designed to help you build up good habits or break bad habits. It uses lots of fun and colorful charts to make things interesting. Who doesn’t love a good chart? How it works is you put in a list of habits (both good and bad) and then every time you do one of those habits you quickly note it in the app. Over time, your charts will build up into an interesting look at your life. Seeing all those good habits will push you to do them more and seeing bad habits will make you feel guilty and try harder to stop.

Balanced

Balanced is a goal tracking app that is great for little, simple goals that make you feel better about your life. This might include seeing a friend or drinking more water on a daily basis. Balanced is great at letting your set different times for your goals whether it is seven times a day or only twice a year. Every time you swipe the “done” after completing a goal, Balanced will reward you with a fun animation. It is simple but when you have small goals you want to achieve sometimes simple is better.

HabitSeed

HabitSeed is a very simple goal tracking app but it stands out as one of the best because of its simplicity. You choose one goal to focus on for 21 days. Goals might include running, not smoking, or working on a book you are writing. The app will plant a seed for that goal. Every day the app will ask if you worked on that goal (ran a mile, didn’t smoke, wrote 1000 words, etc). You answer yes or no. That’s it. Every time you fulfill some part of your goal the seed will grow. If you complete your goal you will end up with a beautiful virtual tree.

GoalsOnTrack

GoalsOnTrack bills itself as goal software for high achievers. If you have big goals for your life that you really want to achieve then this app will help you do it. This is for the big guns. The huge life goals (buy a house, become CEO, lose 200 pounds). You set your main goal and then choose smaller goals that help toward the main goal. Build up a good streak of those smaller goals or complete smaller goals on a regular basis and see yourself inch closer to the big one. GoalsOnTrack has tons of other useful features that make your goal reaching easier.

Lifetick

Lifetick is another goal tracking app like many of the others but it offers a few different features that help it stand out. For one, you have a journal that you can write in to help motivate yourself or others. Journaling is a great way to keep yourself motivated by reminding you how important that goal is to you. Also, Lifetick lets you invite other people to see your goal and even help achieve it. This is great for business groups or classrooms and something other apps do not include. Use Lifetick to motivate an entire group of people to achieve a goal together.

Coach.me

Coach.me is another fancy and feature filled app similar to GoalsOnTrack. It is your virtual life coach. You create a main goal and then set smaller goals to help you reach the main goal. Work on the small ones to complete main goal. What makes Coach.me different from other goal tracking apps is its social feature. You can share your goals with other users and see their goals in return. When someone completes a goal, you can send and receive praise. It’s a great reward system because nobody likes someone seeing you fail and everyone loves praise. You can also hire an actual life coach through coach.me to help you complete your goals.

Asana

Asana is mostly a web-based goal tracker but it includes a free app that you can sync through the cloud so that all your goals and information can go with you wherever you go. Asana works like most goal tracking apps where you set a goal and can receive reminders and track your progress with ease. Asana is similar to them all but has one thing that none of the others have: unicorns. That’s right, when you complete a goal you will see cute unicorn fly across the screen to give congratulations. You might also see other animals (narwhals!) because Asana likes to add to friends from time to time.

These top apps for goal tracking will help you achieve your dreams in record time. You will also develop better life habits and feel happier because of it. Try them all out and pick the goal tracking app that works best your needs and goals.
