Minecraft Online: Free With No Download

By: Editorial Staff

Unless you’ve been hiding out in a shelter (pun intended), or under a rock (also intended), you have probably heard about the sandbox game Minecraft. Chances are, if you have a school-aged child at home, you both hear and know more about the game than you ever expected to know.

While the game does not look like much, it is a huge hit with both children and adults alike, and both genders as well, which is a unique accomplishment for a video game, as most games are either geared toward men or women.

All of these factors are part of the reason why Minecraft Online: Free with no Download has become the most downloaded game in gamer history, and the third most popular game of all time, landing behind Tetris and Wii Sports.

If you’ve ever watched over the shoulder of another person playing Minecraft, you’ve probably thought humorously about what the appeal of such a low-quality graphic game filled with box-like objects could be. The game itself does not look like much to those watching it, but it is extremely entertaining to those that play it.

The concept of the game works like a mini sandbox for the player, who gets to build whatever he or she wants without any other real rules, goals, earning any points, defeating bad guys to move onto the next level, or saving any princesses.

There are no instructions to the game, and the entire purpose is to keep yourself alive while you build in your world, not adhering to any set of game rules or having any major point to what you are doing. The entire principle of the game allows the imagination to run wild with architectural creativity.

The limitless capabilities of Minecraft and the lack of a standard set of rules are probably two large reasons the game appeals so strongly to young children. They get plenty of freedom to do things how they want in their worlds, allowing their creative building abilities to explode onto their Minecraft worlds.

Playing Minecraft for Free

There are a few ways you can obtain a version of Minecraft to play the game for free online, on your PC, or on your mobile device in a variety of ways.

Play the Mojang Demo Free Online. What is Mojang? Mojang sells Minecraft, and they, too offer a demo that a person can play online. The demo available from Mojang is free to all, and demonstrates an older version of Minecraft, as it came out a couple of years ago. So, it is not the latest updated version, but it is widely available and still allows you to play for free so you can try out the game for a bit without paying for it. The most up to date version you will find anywhere on the Internet in demo version is available on the official Minecraft website. Be prepared, though, because the official Minecraft demo website forces you to register if you play there. And while you are getting a freebie preview, there is a lot more to Minecraft than what you will see in an outdated preview.

You will need to start with the registration process. Go to Mojang’s Helpful registration page.

Next, fill out your personal information to complete the registration process.

You will be required to verify your Email address after you finish the registration process. Once you have completed registering, a verification Email will show up in your Email inbox. Go to your Email, check your inbox, and go to the Verification Email message. Click on the link in that message.

Next, you can go to the Minecraft demo page and start playing your free demo.

Now, if the game fails to start up, you may have a problem with your Java plugin. So if this problem occurs with you Update it to solve the Java issue, and Minecraft should start.

You’ll have an hour and a half limit in each world you make in this demo—that is the one limitation. You can continue gaming if you just create a new world, and you can start over again in new worlds as many times as you would like.

Downloading Minecraft to Your PC

Another option you have is to download the free trial version out of the Google App store and onto your computer using an android simulator.

BlueStacks is an Android emulator that will help you to access Minecraft on your computer. Follow the next few steps to get Minecraft setup on your computer.

  1. First, you need to download and install BlueStacks.
  2. After installing BlueStacks, open the program. Start it and finish signing up. Login to your Google Play Account.
  3. In Google Play’s store app, search to find Minecraft download.
  4. Next, after clicking on Minecraft, you will be taken to the application download page.
  5. Select the button that says “Install” and click. Make sure to accept the Google Play Store’s terms and conditions so that the download initialized. If you don’t agree, no download will happen.
  6. Your computer should start downloading.
  7. After the download completes, your Minecraft application will be ready for use on your computer.

Playing Minecraft

Once you get into Minecraft, you will notice you have a few player mode options to utilize. How you decide to play Minecraft will depend on exactly what you want to get out of it; do you want to play alone or with somebody else? Do you want to battle monsters or be left alone to build things? These are some options the game provides to players as they prepare to play. So, for the most enjoyable experience, try to pinpoint what you want out of the game. For additional help, descriptions are below about what the different options in Minecraft offer to gamers in its community.

Single Player or Multiplayer?

When you first enter the game, you will have the option of playing either single player or multiplayer. Singles are the lone gamers, whereas those that opt for multiplayer play with other people on various Minecraft servers. However, if you are playing on the free version of Minecraft, you will not be allowed the option to play in multiplayer mode. If this is going to be a hindrance, remember that the Minecraft Pocket Edition LINK costs less than seven dollars and gives you full access to the game on our mobile device.

Difficulty Settings

The game will also take you through a set of main options you can select from, like sound and difficulty settings. Difficulty settings are what they sound like: how tough you want to make your opponents in the game. The monsters in the game come out in mass amounts at night, and how hard you want these enemies to come at you depends on your selection. Another item to note is that difficulty settings may vary from the world to the world, so take heed if you decide to go into a new world without making difficulty settings check. The settings range as follows:

  1. No monsters will bother you, and you get some time to get used to the other settings in the game.
  2. Small monster mobs may bother you from time to time, but your world will not run wild with them.
  3. Select this only if you want a lot of monsters.

How much a monster can hurt your character also heavily depends on what difficulty level you select. You will mostly only see them underground or at night, and they are also world-based. This concept means that what types of monsters you encounter depends on what world you enter.

Game Mode Settings

After you have set your difficulty, you will need to make your world so that you can get your character’s capabilities going. To get yourself started creating a world, select “Game Mode.” This option allows you to modify the world you will be working in, making it as simple or as challenging as you wish.

  1. This option is your more standard level of Minecraft, where the usual concepts of hunger, health, armor, air when underwater, etc., are all things to watch. You have to plan on collecting items to craft and obtain experience points.
  2. This mode is for those who want to build to their heart’s content without restrictions. You have access to everything, and no needs are necessary. Another bonus feature in this mode is that you can fly.
  3. Pick this only if you want everything to move into the hardest settings the game has to offer. When you die, your world vanishes and the monsters are quite numerous.

Pick Your World Options.

You can decide what you want your world to be like with the world options. For instance, if you select default, you get the basic, standard Minecraft world. There is also Super flat, which is flat terrain. Large Biomes is another selection, allowing you to have larger biomes available in your world. There is an amplified selection, which helps will give you an excess of mountains and caves. You may also select customized, which makes different kinds of worlds for you. The last option for you to pick from is Debug, which makes each type of block in a world, but you will only be able to view them.

Once you’ve gone through the standard selection process, your character is ready to go, and you notice the game will start by dropping you right in the middle of your world. When that happens, it is time to let the fun begin.
