Nobody can deny that our culture, as of April 2016, has acquired a taste for celebrity life. Any time spent in the Snapchat community will reveal a host of celebrity presence, which can be good news for Becky G fans; we’ll show you how to gain access to her shared pics and video on the popular social media platform.
Facebook. Twitter. Instagram. We don’t have a social media problem as much as we have a constantly updating social media feast. It’s free to access, and anyone that carries a smartphone around (it’s most of us now, isn’t it?) can partake as often as they want, wherever they want, for as long as they want. We’re no longer just keeping up with our friends, and no longer just keeping up with the Joneses. We’re keeping up with the entire world, and by choosing who we follow and what we pay attention to, we can narrow that world down to suit our focus and our interest.
It’s a remarkable way to keep up with world events, celebrity gossip, and practically every major trend occurring in the world today. Just to put it in a clear way, that establishes how important of a phenomenon this is: humanity has no precedent for this type of experience.
We’ve never been so connected. Sure, it can be unhealthy when it gets out of hand, but when used in a healthy way, it’s never been easier to stay knowledgeable and informed about those things that we want to stay up-to-date on.
Sometimes, that’s politics. Sometimes, that’s world events. Sometimes, that’s Becky G and her newest album!
Given how much of Snapchat’s millions-strong user base is made up of young people, it’s no wonder that celebrities are flocking to the social media platform in droves, hoping to both promote themselves and present a new, active side of themselves that can’t come across as well on other platforms. Facebook is great for announcements, Twitter is great for brief blurbs, and Instagram is decent for cute image-shares, but you can have more fun in Snapchat than you can in any of its competitors. It offers tools for silly shenanigans and artistic expression that simply can’t be found elsewhere, and this unique draw brings in celebrities for the same reason that it brings in users like you and me.
That’s one of the cool things about Snapchat: celebrity or not, we’re all partaking in it for similar reasons. The lenses, filters, stickers, and short, bursty nature of Snapchat’s media is great for communication, allowing users of all walks of life to broadcast moments of their life that are digested almost as quickly as those moments occurred. It’s a great way to go viral, and the knowledge that Snaps only last a few seconds before they’re lost forever makes people pay attention where they might otherwise glaze over.
Posting and sharing on Snapchat demand a certain respect for active, lively social media posts, and for celebrities and their followers, that’s a wonderful thing.
How Do I Find Celebrities on Snapchat?
Here’s a universal rule about self-promotion through social media: those who are on social media platforms to be found are going to make it easy for you to find them. However, as there’s no present method to search out users based on their actual name in the Snapchat app itself, we’re going to take to your web browser!
You can do this on your computer or your mobile device; it doesn’t matter since we’re looking for the same information either way. We have one goal in mind: we want to find Becky G’s Snapcode and username. Once we have both, we’ll have two ways for you to find her in Snapchat.
(Spoiler: I could just give them to you, but this search method will help you to find more than just Becky G! You’ll be able to find a wealth of other celebrities using the same searching method, so read on!)
The search query is simple: “Becky G on Snapchat.” Pop that into your search engine and see where it takes you!
Adding Becky G on Snapchat
If your search results at all resemble mine, you’ll happen upon your goal rather quickly. There are quite a few sites out there that dedicate themselves to collecting celebrity usernames for popular chat platforms, and many have done so for Becky G. However, you don’t exactly have to rely on those third-parties if one of your search results includes the Twitter profile of the very Rebbeca Marie Gomez that we were searching for in the first place.
See? Celebrities want you to find them in social media. It’s a win/win for both parties. We didn’t stumble upon a Snapcode, as we so often do in celebrity Snapchat announcements made through Twitter, but fret not faithful reader: I found that for you too.
So, with both of our goals sourced out through a simple search engine query, we’re ready to head back into Snapchat and get to following Becky G’s presence there. Her following there is already significant, and she Snaps for her fans frequently.
There are two ways that you can add Becky G on Snapchat: Snapcode or username, and it’s for this reason that I make a point to find both of them. Snapcodes are trendy and cool, and most celebrities make a habit of sharing these personalized tags on their other social media avenues. However, usernames are just as reliable of a method to use, and when you’re not able to access a person’s Snapcode, they work in a pinch.
Either method is going to require you to head into your main Snapchat menu, so tap the little ghost silhouette at the top of the primary window and select “Add Friends.”
- Snapcode. You’ll need an active camera on your mobile device for this method, but since that piece of hardware is literally the foundation of your Snapchat experience, here’s to hoping that you have it. Simply select this option from the Add Friends menu, scan the Snapcode above, and you’re good to go!
- Username. This is perhaps a simpler method, if a little less flashy. As you’ll see in Becky G’s Twitter post, her Snapchat username is “beckygofficial.” Just tap this option, type in the username, and you’ll be ready to rock and roll.
Once you’ve completed either of the above two steps, you’ll officially be following Becky G! Look forward to all of her photo and video media posted for the foreseeable future; until the day comes that Snapchat is no longer the go-to source for short, easily-digested blurbs and clips from everyone’s daily lives, celebrities will be pushing their presence on this platform!
Following Celebrities
There are quite a few real benefits to following celebrities on Snapchat. Fandoms are important, of course, but as a dedicated follower, there’s a good chance that you’ll catch previews of their work and other activities before they appear anywhere else.
Numerous musicians take advantage of Snapchat’s “self-destructing” messages in order to send our previews of new songs or clips from new music videos. Actors will give you behind-the-scenes access to their work. The list goes on and on, proving that Snapchat is a haven for celebrities and other artists who want to proactively promote their presence.
Other Celebrities on Snapchat
Of course, the fact that you were only looking for Becky G doesn’t mean that you can’t find other favorite personalities all over Snapchat. No matter where they are in the public spotlight, there’s a good chance that they have a Snapchat presence!
- Justin Bieber @rickthesizzler
- Blake Lively @LivelyBK
- Ariana Grande @MoonlightBae
- Ally Brooke @itsmeallyb
- Madonna @madonna
Feel like adding more celebrities to your Snapchat feeds? Search any of the above usernames, and use your search engine to find dozens more active personalities who you can follow. When in doubt, Google!
Active, happy Snapchatters will use the social media platform to engage with people, trends, and topics that they’re interested in, and the app certainly gives you ways to participate and contribute. In addition to being able to follow the lives of your favorite celebrities, you might just be inspired, as well! While many of their Snaps will revolve around their professional activities, some prefer to use Snapchat to showcase their day-to-day lives, outside of the usual spotlight. Family life can be just as fantastic and interesting as stage-life, and Snapchat’s feature set can truly help fans to realize this. Additionally, you might just start to learn that even the most famous people are just as down-to-earth with their thoughts and expression as you and your friends.
If you haven’t tried finding any famous names in your social media platforms, I highly suggest you give it a try. You don’t need to start with Snapchat, but because of its robust features and focus on encouraged, creative expression, I highly suggest that you do. Snaps from their lives can often tell you more than a few words on Twitter, and I suspect you’ll discover the same is true of Becky G when you start receiving her uploaded pics and videos via the constantly growing platform that is Snapchat.
