7 Apps Like Fling to Find A Date

By: Editorial Staff

Fling is a great app to find someone to have a little bit of fun with, without strings, but are there any Fling alternatives? With so many dating apps out there, it can be difficult to find the ones where people aren’t necessarily focused on finding relationships, but rather on finding someone to have a good time.Fling itself has been plagued with problems as of late, and with the Fling app shutting down, people are wondering where to go for their next partner.

Luckily, there are quite a few apps out there like Fling which can help you find someone who is looking for the same thing.

7 Apps Similar to Fling

While there aren’t as many apps out there for looking for “no strings attached” relationships where you can just meet up, you can get the same results from many apps. Remember, you should be upfront about your desires and not lead someone on.

Even so, there are plenty of apps out there where you can look. Here are some of the ones with the most users who are probably looking for no strings attached:

1 – Okay Cupid

  • Has a lot of users
  • Free to use
  • Does have some spam

Okay Cupid was one of the first dating apps people have tried, and it has had quite a bit of success. Part of this is because you can use it on your phone or on your desktop, which means it gets people from all walks of life. Okay Cupid does have a larger user base that is older, so if you are looking for someone of a certain age, you may want to start here. The filters work extremely well here. You can filter for age, gender, sexual orientation, and more. You can connect your Facebook to add more photos and information.

2 – Badoo

  • One of the first dating apps
  • Free or premium subscription
  • Give virtual “gifts”

Badoo was the first free dating site online. It was launched in 2006 and has continued to grow since then. The site isn’t as popular in the United States, but it is popular in places such as Spain, France, Italy, Brazil, and Turkey.

Badoo has many different features, including the ability to give gifts and impress the other people on the app. These gifts are what keep Badoo running and make it successful.

One of the best features is that you can get a verified profile so people know you aren’t making up your profile. Also, you can sort to see only verified photos, so you know you aren’t getting catfished.

3 – Feeld

  • Designed for singles or couples
  • Private profiles to protect yourself
  • Kink-friendly

If you are looking for a special someone to spend the night with—or special someones—Feeld may be your best bet. Designed to be kink-friendly and to help everyone from all walks of life, it is a well-designed app which promises discretion.

If you are single, you can meet other singles who want to hook up or you can meet couples who want to hook up. If you are a couple, there are special tags which allow you to find a third (or fourth) for your night.

Feeld has great chat options, top-level privacy, and great photo sharing capabilities.

4 – Tinder

  • Widest range of users
  • Great free app (premium available)
  • Easy to use

Tinder is probably the gold standard of dating apps right now. It does have people looking for relationships, but many are just looking for hookups. All you need to do is set up your profile, answer some questions, and get to swiping. It works just like many other dating apps: you swipe one way to say yes and another way to say no.You only have a certain number of free swipes per day, but you can bypass that by paying for premium. When you use Tinder, be sure to be clear about what you are looking for and don’t lead anyone on. It may be a good idea to put what you are looking for in your profile, so people know when they are swiping.

5 – Flingster

  • Good for finding flings
  • Easy to use
  • Discreet

Probably the best alternative for Fling is Flingster. It was designed with the same type of relationship in mind, and everyone who uses the app is looking for the same thing. You can be discreet and hide your profile from certain people, or you can keep your profile wide open. It is up to you.

It has a chat room feature which is great for helping you find likeminded people. There are also some tags you can use to find people who are interested in the same things you are, which is helpful when trying to find a fling.

The only problem with this app is that some areas just don’t seem to have a lot of users. You may need to widen your search area to find someone who will fit your needs.

6 – MeetMe

  • Smaller group of users
  • Paid platform
  • May need to widen your search area

Another great app which is easy to use (there aren’t many frills here) is MeetMe. You can talk to people in your area and get to know them before you meet them. This is a paid platform, but that also means there aren’t people on here who are looking to waste your time. Instead, they do want to talk to people and meet.

Once again, this platform wasn’t developed for people to find flings, but that doesn’t mean you won’t find people who want them. You just need to be straightforward and honest about what you want.

7 – Smoothie

  • Discreet on your phone—looks like a normal app
  • Designed for “casual” encounters
  • Great chat features

If you are looking for something casual but still want to be extremely careful about who you meet, Smoothie is a great option. You will get to match up with people instantly and talk to them before meeting in real life. The focus here is to meet someone. You can exchange selfies and talk to someone, but the app itself is totally anonymous. It looks like any other app on your phone (meaning it doesn’t scream “dating app” like some icons do), and you do not have to link it to any of your social networking accounts.

Smoothie gives you a map so you can easily find your way to your date, but it doesn’t show you where he or she lives. Instead it picks a location to meet. The process is really simple: you match with someone, you talk for a bit, and then you go meet him or her. What happens after that is totally up to you.

Remember, meeting up with someone requires you to be respectful and listen to them. Even if someone is just going to have a “fling” with you, you need to honor what they say.

When you use these apps, be straightforward about what it is you want. Only then can you really enjoy yourself and be present in the moment.
